SUPPORT THE FUTURE OF THE MRC

A place you belong

In addition to being a creative outlet, MRC is a safe haven for adolescents – with programs after school that run into the evening hours. Young people build community at MRC, and learn structure and time management skills. As their confidence grows, we often see benefits in other areas of their lives, including improved academic performance.

We believe that financial constraints should never prevent young people from accessing the arts.

With a focus on access, we minimize costs for families with annual fees as low as $1.

Take the Tour

Fostering the youth of Charlottesville through music

The Music Resource Center (MRC) is a safe, diverse, and creative community where 6th-12th graders learn, grow, and make music together. MRC is accessible to all.

Guided by our core values of creativity, access, and community, MRC is committed to enhancing the lives of youth through musical engagement. These values are the foundation of all our initiatives and reflect our dedication to fostering a nurturing environment.

Creativity

We offer a dynamic space where members engage in hands-on music creation and performance. Members do not just learn and play instruments – they engage as artists, creators, and storytellers.

Access

We believe every youth deserves the chance to explore and excel in music without barriers. Affordability ensures that every young person in our community can access MRC programs.

Community

Playing a pivotal role in the community, MRC helps youth discover their voice and build confidence. Beyond music education, we provide a nurturing environment for young people to develop their talents, express themselves, and grow both personally and artistically.
empowerment

“We are here to inspire and empower each student to achieve their musical dreams and full potential.”
